(Segment 10)
I arrived home today, no longer do I share a room with the red upholstery, and I am somewhat glum about it. Time has been (fast)walking down the corridor without a bump or moment of hesitancy in his stride. While walking, Time has also been dragging me down the passage by my ankle. Resolute in his purpose while I would rather go stay at the grey infrastructure on the beachfront.
Instruction:
Invest in beachside hotels.
Cram as many fish-like humans in as is possible.
Time it seems, gets away from everyone. A good thing at first, one would guess. Cheery. For, if Time had gotten away from me surely then he can no longer drag me down the corridor by my ankle? Alas, ‘for Time to get away from you’ means differently to ‘you getting away from Time’. Time is a wily git, always sneaking around, trying to go unseen.
“Oh dear Richard!”
“Huh? What is it darling?”
“I just lost track of Time again!”
“Quick darling, close the windows and doors, he couldn’t have gotten out of the room yet. You need to remember to hold him tightly!”
“Oh I know Rich, but he is just so oily all the time.”
Time has been known to oil himself up, lubricating to reduce resistance. Remarkably, the only places he doesn’t seem to get oily are the palms of his hands, the hands used for holding ankles securely. Fastened tightly, Time ticking fastened strictly. If only my ankles were oily themselves.
GLUMNESS. GLUMLY. GLUMTUBE. GLUMBOTRON.
I just can’t help but feel like I am missing out on something, sneaking out of sight and hiding in the peripheries. If only I had more Time to notice the absence. A hazy blur, mumbled breath, uncertain replication of canonical life. Do you see what I mean? Motion with your eyebrows to the left, and really try to think you are about to look to the left, but at the last moment look to the right. Oh man, nearly had it that time, just out of reach.
Instructions:
Enrol yourself in your local primary school, the one most physically near to you.
Live and breath an entirely new life.
Sit around on a Sunday afternoon – Glumly.
