(Segment 18)
- Scene Opening: midday, overcast, comfortably cool, indistinct chatter off to the top left, assorted objects lie on the centre table; books (self-bound), glasses, crisps and chips, hard drives, coasters, glasses with fluids.
And so he sits there, in amongst friends. Trepidation had been mounting in his chest over the past few days, but now the man is relieved. He is relieved on a soft couch with friends. Don’t worry, it wasn’t a messy kind of ‘relieved’. ‘Dials’ are a hot topic of conversation, and he can’t help but wonder how this situation truly came into being. Randomly generated textures and patterns pushing him inwards, seating him at the table set for five. Destined to be seated at this table, the table surrounded by couches.
Lackadaisical
When he is older, some time in the future, the man will build a house. This is the plan at least. A grand plan, for a grand consortium of intwining corridors and passages. Living in a warren. Purpose being; more intersections, more options, more routes. Being able to select a unique path every evening whilst walking between bedroom, living room, kitchen, etc. A true freedom for the man, travelling along a unique pattern everyday in his future house. Difficult to express, but earnest in its intent.
Scene Closing: Later midday, overcast, comfortably cool, distinct chatter stage centre, objects have been moved around and exchanged; cups, molten wax, candle upright, wallet, empty crisps and chips packaging, glasses containing gasses.
